re: changing website links in generator

the current code to change the userinfo/website links in generator can be found here.

there are a few problems with this code as it stands:
-the links in the code are specific to the person who originally asked the question, and
-the links are structured in a table like the original links.

these aren't really problems per se.. the first is an inconvenience to anyone who doesnt want to sift through code, and the second will confuse anyone who just wants a paragraph there instead of the table structure.

so, i re-wrote the code to suit such paragraph-inclined requests better.

for this to work, you need to specify a website in your userinfo. go to the edit info page and fill in the "Webpage URL" and "Webpage Name" fields. it doesnt matter what you put, as long as something's there.

big important note: if you want to go to a new line, hitting Enter won't work here. you have to tell it that you're going to a new line by putting in <br> where you want it to go to a new line.

also, for instructions on making links in your text, read this FAQ.

merge this into LASTN_WEBSITE:

LASTN_WEBSITE<=
<tr><td colspan="5" width="100%">
<table style="float:right" cellspacing="0" border="0" cellpadding="0">
<tr><td class="meta" width="100%">

(content here)

</td></tr></table></td></tr>
<=LASTN_WEBSITE

then merge the following into GLOBAL_HEAD:

GLOBAL_HEAD<=
<style type=text/css>
<!--
table table table table .meta {visibility:hidden;position:absolute;top:1px}
table table table table table .meta {visibility:visible;position:relative;top:1px}
-->
</style>
<=GLOBAL_HEAD

put whatever you want to appear there where it says "content here." this can be absolutely anything. links, images, what have you. whatever you want to make your journal look spiffy.

the point of this code is just to make it easier for the html-clueless to get something in that space besides "[userinfo|livejournal userinfo]," such as image maps and header images and customized text.

however, if you're just looking to get rid of these links, then you only need the GLOBAL_HEAD code, you can ignore anything here about LASTN_WEBSITE.

and that should do it. comment with concerns.
hope that helps
